Uganda Bound!
We are going to Uganda, East Africa June17-July 1!
Brad, our worship pastor here at New Life Church, has had a desire to take a mission trip as a worship team for several years now. The New Life School of Worship has been to Uganda for 4 years in a row, working with Pastor Jackson Senyonga with Christian Life Ministries and a team of doctors from our church.
Christian Life Ministries started 2 orphanages in Uganda and has seen it grow from 30 children to over 1,000! They now have a school building and running water. You can read all about it here.
We will be traveling as a group of about 25-20 to serve these people in Uganda. They are precious to the Lord and we go with the goal of showing the love of Jesus through prayer, resources and practical ways.
While there, we will provide ministry and personal interaction to the orphan children and the orphan Mums (who care for the children). We will be helping to build a brick perimeter fence around both orphanages. There is one orphanage in Lira, which is in northern Uganda and another in Seeta, which is in central Uganda.
We will also be working with local churches to help reach the people of Uganda. We will be visiting Kampala and Lira...including a village that lost over 200 people to the Joseph Kony's Lord's Resistance Army.
Will you pray with us? Please pray for protection, for wisdom, for health. Prayer is powerful and we definitely need it as we embark on this journey.
Another way you can help is financially. We need to raise $99,000 as a team. This will cover all of our traveling, food and lodging expenses. This number seems so large, but we are working hard as a team and as individuals. We know that through God all things are possible!!
If you would like to give toward our trip, you can click here. This will take you to the Giving page of www.newlifechurch.org. It will ask you to create an account, but you won't be added to any mailing lists. You gift is tax deductible and you will receive a tax statement next year.
Thank you for joining with us on this adventure! We look forward to sharing all that God does this summer in Uganda!
